Absa
It is not her job to explain terms to me

Business & Finance

I am extremely disappointed today with the poor, poor attitude. She left me shaking with frustration. I lost my father in June and he had a bond with absa. I am the executor of his estate and I have never been an executor for any one elses estate so most of the terms are new to me as. Above and beyond dealing with my loss, I had to submit a number of documents to different places to report my father as deceased an absa was one of those places. Luckily he had a life cover with absa life, so I submitted documents there too. As per their records I was advised the bond was partly covered so the cover paid out partly and the account is in advance instead of settled. Today I received a call from Melissa stating I need to settle immediately. I advised I am in the process of trying to obtain funds to settle. During our conversation she asked me whether the bond was sovent or insolvent and i asked her to explain what she meant as i am not familiar with the term and her response was "her job is not to educate me what that means, as an executor I should know". I hardly ever complain but I really am disappointed and I hope this is not how all people who have had a loss are treated.
