I applied for vehicle finance yesterday 11th November 2013. The application was declined due to a "negative status", and it could not be explained to me what this was. I then called prestige banking, they could see no problem why finance would be declined. I was told go into the branch. Went in to the branch, they could not find a problem. Phoned card legal and they said the problem is there. So i then call card legal, they cannot see what the problem is as i have no outstanding debts, as i do not have a STD BANK credit card currently. Checked on Experian / ITC, there are no flags listed there. So basically after running around, calling everywhere, i am still clueless as to why i am being flagged with a negative status. My account profile has always been exemplary, and i am now being tainted by something that NOT ONE single department in Standard Bank can explain to me why. This is unacceptable and very disconcerting for a loyal client. My life has to be put on hold at the mercy of Standard Bank, which apparently will take 3 days to resolve this phantom error. I need this resolved now.
