I tired cancelling my RA on the 24th of October as I was very unhappy with the lack of interest and poor communication skills from the advisor I was appointed to at Old Mutual. I sent an email notification and never got a response. On the 1st the first RA payment was debited off my account. I then called the RA asking why this was never cancelled and was told I need to send the bank statement. I did this on the Monday morning and didn't get a response again. On the Tuesday I sent another mail asking for an update and got a very email back. This email basically accused me of asking her to not disclose certain information which is a blatant lie. It also basically accused me of making the wrong decision and that one day I will realise this. I was also told to rather communicate with client services as "It is clear that we have a problem and you are the client and have the right to say whatever."

Turns out the RA was never cancelled and now she has been checking my other policies everyday since the 1st of November. I am very upset and wish to have some resolution asap and have my money returned to me.
