I called the Santam call centre for a quote on the 08/01/2013 & spoke to Hilroy Jephta. He gave me a quote for my car insurance which I accepted. He then needed further details of my car which I supplied & advised that my details have been sent to the underwriters (sla 8hrs for feedback) and that he will let me know once the policy is approved. I reiterated that he should let me know once my policy has been approved as I need to cancel my current policy. I heard nothing from him, until I called him on the 11/01/2013 and was told he wasn't sure what the delay was but that he was going to call me back the same day, which HE NEVER DID! Last week I get my Santam policy document with the start date: 01/02/2013, yet not once did that useless Hilroy call and advise that my policy was approved. I phoned Santam again & was told that Hilroy's on leave so spoke to Ma-ad who changed the start date of my policy to 01/03/2013, but that the premium will still go off on 01/02/2013 and that I should go to the bank to put a stop order as a refund will take over 10 days. WHY SHOULD I BE INCONVENIENCED FOR YOUR INCOMPETENT STAFF? I NOT ONLY EXPECT A WRITTEN APOLOGY, BUT I EXPECT MY REFUND WITHIN 3 DAYS
