About a week or so ago I took out insurance with Dial Direct. i was happy with the premiums and the service was OK.
Yesterday i was reading through my policy schedule (I only received it yesterday) and I noticed that over and above my basic excess, I would, if I had a claim, pay a basic excess of R2000 as well as additional excess of R4000 for a) Having a learners license for my motorcycle and b) Having my license for less than two years. In total the excess would amount to a sum of R6000 for a motorcycle that is only worth R9500.
This is absolutely disgusting service, why was I not told of this prior to me taking up the policy?
Congratulations Dial Direct for fitting the stereotypical mold of a typical insurance company who do not care about their clients and who are underhanded in their dealings.
