Dial Direct Insurance
BEWARE OF DIAL DIRECT

Dial Direct makes up their beautiful cheap insurance package via telephone - a policy amount to which you agree. The problem with this is as soon as you phone to add something to your insurance, an amendment is made to the policy or a claim has been processed they increase the price of your insurance in an incredibly suspect way. In stead of CLEARLY communicating any increases by telling you your policy amount has been increased they try to hide it, by increasing your excess or minimum amount payable or even add an excess to a sound system or something similar. This is never mentioned to you over the phone, only sent through to you in one small spot on a seven page policy amendment document - the so called "fine print" which is there to legally cover Dial Direct and make you feel like your honest relationship with your insurance has suddenly become dishonest.

I wanted to make a claim for my car radio (which can be replaced by a similar radio for R800) and they are charging me an excess of R750. Now how can the Dial Direct representative that I had spoken to not have seen that this would be ripping me off completely?! It is utterly ridiculous.
