RCS
Continue charging after term of loan has expired

Business & Finance

I entered into a credit agreement for the purchase of 2 couches from Coricraft with RCS some 2 years ago. The agreement was for a fixed term and fixed instalments which were debit ordered off my account. All debit orders were honoured. I recently discovered that even though the term of my loan has expired and therefore should be fully settled, RCS continue to debit order me for R34 a month. In a telecon with a call centre agent he advised that this was for insurance and service fees. I can only presume that once you sign up for a loan with RCS you will continue to be charged whether you have fulfilled your obligations in terms of the loan or not. This is extortion and I will be laying a complaint with the Credit Ombudsman.
