I had called into the call Centre to log a claim on one of our cars we have insured with Miway, to my surprised I was told my excess was 50% more than what I had agreed on upon entering a contract with miway. The excess was hiked up to R3000 without my knowledge. I informed the claims agent of this, and she could not assist on this and transferred me to a service agent who told me was the excess was changed at our policy review, apparently at these reviews, Miway amends their client's policies to suit their own business, and discounts any agreements they have with the client, they draw up a new contract for their clients based on how much money they can generate from each client and amends the policies and not inform the client, I was then told I am being transferred to a retentions agent and none was available, and was therefore told I could not be assisted further. After the turn out of this event I then logged a complaint on their site, which had also proven to be fruitless. I now know that Miway does not take CPA into account in their business. I am very unhappy and want out of this insurance for good and insure to one that respects the law and the agreements with their clients
