My car was on the 17th of October - after calling the police, I immediately phoned Santam.
I was told that my claim was lodged. That I would have to send extra information and then it would be taken from there.

Later the same evening SAPS let me know my car was recovered but damaged.
18 October 2013 I informed Santam that the nature of my claim had changed - I also gave the case number and the other info. I wasn't told anything was a miss.

When I followed up Tuesday 22 October - I was told that no assessor was sent but that it would be sorted out presently. I was told that I would not be able to get my car on Tuesday but likely on the 23rd.

When following up today the status of the claim was exactly the same - I had to repeatedly give the same information and by 16:00 and calling persistently I was now assured that a assessor would be dispatched as the request for an assessor was NOW in the system.

I think this was a case of very poor and very vague communication and in regards with turn around time - blatant.

In the meantime I am stranded without transportation.
