I was involved in a car accident on the 26th of July 2013. I reported this accident to Alexander Forbes insurance along with all the paper work. The claim was handled very slowly by Stacey Prost. When ever I called her office line I was informed she was not at her desk to help me and she would call back, after me having to call back numerous times eventually I reached her. I had to put pressure on her to get the repair going as I needed the vehicle. I have rental car cover on my policy which I reminded her numerous times I would need should the vehicle not be repaired soon. This option was never handed to me so I had to lend a vehicle for the duration. Now once the vehicle is repaired I am issued a letter by Philani stating my insurance premiums will increase by nearly R300 for a year for an accident where the claim for repairs was only R8200. I have contacted Philani who assured me he would have this re-looked at and a update handed to me. 10 days later and still no response. I have emailed him regarding this and have only received an out of office email in return. Had I been informed my premiums would increase by R300 a month (After my first accident) I would have paid myself.
