Lightning damaged home alarm not replaced

My LNB and home alarm was damaged by Lightning on Friday the 14 Dec 2012. I got the DSTV repaired. I sent an Email to the Claims Dept with all the details. After a week & no calls from SIL I called the call centre, they said that I did not follow the correct procedure to register a claim and that I should telephonically register the claim and then send the required docs/invoices to them.
1.Somebody received the email, why did they not reply to the email and tell me to 1st register the claim? Is that too much work? I think this is very poor service.
2. The 24th of Dec I received a call from Renier. He came to my home to view the alarm and other damages, he took photos and said he will compiled a report.
3. I think It was the 28th Dec that Renier called me and said the report is done and somebody will contact me.
4. I think it was the 10th Jan I was contacted by Silver Solutions for the installation of the alarm on Wednesday
5. Before Wednesday he phoned to postpone the installation until Friday because the guys needed training on Risco Systems.
6. Friday (18 Jan) somebody else contacted me to give a quote (MR Technology)
7. Today is the 28th, 6 weeks after the incident
