Credit card taking months

I applied for a credit card on FNB's website in November 2012. The credit card was approved on 10 December 2012 according to their system. I have been phoning them and I visited my nearest branch a few times, but they keep telling me I should wait until I receive a sms to collect. The normal waiting period is 3 weeks. Why do I have to wait so long for my card?
