Why am I receiving this?

Hi, I recently received an sms that reads: "Dear client fax ID & recent bank statement to 0866751493 for a refund, note Avbob policy AL212 (prefer not to write the full policy number) on statement. Enquiries 012 303 1399". My concern is that I've never applied for a policy with avbob nor any other company for that matter. How do i know that this is legit or is one of the popular that are doing their rounds?
