Nightmare to activate new card card

I applied online for a new credit card. Since receipt, its been a nightmare trying to actually get the card activated for use. Applying online, the normal assumption is that I would not need to visit a branch or ATM to active. Secondly, the activation process or steps to activate listed on the welcome letter totally differ from the actual process one needs to follow. I hvae been to the ATM to activate now the contact centre advises I need to actually Go into a branch to have them activate the InContact details to use online banking. So frustrated with this whole stupid process!!! in future, please provide the correct process the first time around. I could have applied in a branch and sorted all this out in one appointment
