Is this how they debit accounts?

I am seriously annoyed. African Bank assumed I would get paid on the 15th Dec and tried to deduct a payment out of my account for their instalment. Now instead of calling me to make some arrangement they leave it and then don't deduct my account for the day I signed the debit order for. Their excuse was sorry but we thought everyone gets paid the 15th. I said that it does not matter as I signed for the debit order on a specific day. Now come January the 25th and they called me to say I am in arrears for not paying December. I said how can that be if I have a debit order running. So I made an arrangement for them to deduct the missed instalment over 3 months which they agreed upon. Now today the 26th they deducted the full two instalments. Now I need to know what was the arrangement all about. This is unacceptable - 1) because they deduct on different days as was agreed upon and 2) for not sticking to their arrangements. Now I look like I am a pad payer from African Bank
