I needed to take a loan out two weeks ago, just to help me with some of my bills. I decided to get a temporary loan from FNB via the ATM. It asked me my pay date, told me how much my administration and fees/interest for the 30 Day period would be, I was grateful. I agreed. I recently fell ill and because I am not on medical aid, I needed to see a doctor he told me I would need blood tests and scans... so again not having enough money needed to get a loan from elsewhere, agreeing also to pay on my next pay day the 26th of September. After a week seeing that a deposit has been made for my medical situation, FNB decides to take for the 30 day temporary loan. After 5 Days??? I have paid fees and interest for the entire month and agreed to the 26th of September. Seeing that I only really had the luxury of the loan for five days will they reduce my interest paid? I keep getting the t&c's thrown in my face, which weren't stated at the ATM but regardless of that, can you charge for something I haven't used? It makes me wonder how many others are caught for R300-R400 a pop thinking they have till payday or 30 days- they are entitled to. Temporary loans must be making FNB a killing.
