With the help of Standard Bank home loan staff in cape town, i stopped my payments after the death of my husband so that i could change accounts to my name first and also make arrangements to pay off the bonds prior to the completion of the estate. I am getting more than 10 - 16 phone calls a day from Mary and the team at home loan call centre for over a month already - from before 8am to after 08h30pm at night. We are getting calls daily asking for my late husband- despite telling them over and over he passed away and i am dealing with a specific staff member in cape town. These people are so rediculous that they even ask when my late husband would be avaialble. I was told they do not communicate with other bank staff, however they also do not check the system where a note was posted about my arrangements with the local staff who are assiting me.
I call it what it is - blatant harassement!! Standard Bank has become my most hated business partner and i cannot wait to close all my accounts as soon as my business is done. You rob your clients blind of fees, you keep payments for 3 days and often 5 days before you credit our accounts. It is a disgrace how you treat your clients
