We cleaned out our chest freezer on 30-08-2013 after switching it off on 29-08-2013. We bought groceries on 31-08-2013. On Sunday 01-09-2013, we noted that the freezer was not working and that the freezer goods were totally defrosted and did not look or smell good. I lodged a claim on 02-09-2013. Inge Pelser took my call and questioned how the groceries could go off in a day. She gave me the third degree as if I was on trial. I complained about it and was called by the claims manager who in turn asked me to continue dealing with her! I forwarded the required documentation to Inge on 04-09-2013.On 09-09-2013 I mentioned to my colleague who referred me to Integrisure about my complaint. Whilst writing to tthe New Business Specialist who sold me the policy, I received a call from Inge stating that she was awaiting my documentation. After reading my email to her which she then found, the status of claim miraculously changed to awaiting assessor approval. On 10-09-2013, I received an email indicating that the claim has been referred to Santam and that I should get a response on Friday 13-09-13!! I am utterly dissappointed with this service.
