I phone Home Assist for assistance with a blocked sewer from tree roots in my garden. I was told I am only covered once. I explain that todate I have used my own plumber to maintain the roots, but this year he is unavailable. I get given a reference number and the plumber arrives. I phone the plumber back when I see the problem remains unresolved. He explains he does not have the correct equipment to complete the job. I phone insurance back, and they claim I am not covered at all for tree roots. I then query why the plumber was sent in the first place, and they explain it was to investigate the cause of the blockage. I explain that I reported tree roots from the start and that was accepted. I ask for them to pull the telephone record. They ignore the request. I phone back (fourth time) and get told, they have covered the call out fee and the one hour labour - no longer their problem. Huh, ten days later there is a serious health risk in my garden, and the story just keeps changing with them. I give up do you or don't you cover, and if you don't, then why send a plumber to get rid of tree roots?
