I applied for a credit card that was declined. I requested the reason and was told by the call centre that it was because I had "returns" on my account. I was very surprised and checked, only to find that I had forgotten to provide for a debit order the previous month and had only transferred the amount from my money market account with the bank the next day. Had they taken the trouble to look at the transaction, they would have seen this quite clearly. Upon raising this, the response was that the matter can only be reopened by the branch.

That was on 15/8. Despite two letters of follow-up to the branch after a massively inconvenient and uncooperative process of getting someone to provide the e-mail details of someone at the branch, I have yet to have anything more than a call saying that the Prestige banker is looking into the matter - two weeks ago. The lack of responsiveness is appalling, particularly since the business left with them is down to almost nothing already as a result of previous bad service.
