On the 19th August 2013 I contacted the compliance officer, G Pillay, at [Email Removed] regarding a query I had. To date I have not had the courtesy of an acknowledgement to my query. In my email I had specific questions relating to inventory submissions, and who's responsibilities they were, as well the documentation confirming the obligation on the part of the Insured and the Insurer. I would appreciate a response thereto as a matter of urgency. This was my query: 1) Assume I failed to provide an updated inventory list on a regular basis, and New National also failed to request this. Should a claim arise, and it is determined that I was insured adequately at inception, but under insured at claim stage, will I be penalized in this instance?
2) What would happen if the onus rested with the insurer?
3) If this onus was on both parties, can a settlement claim be reached? How is this settlement amount determined?
