Unable to update a simple phone number!

I do not understand how it can be possible for people to qualify as a banking consultant but are still unable to carry through a simple task like updating a phone number. On NUMEROUS occasions my cell phone number has changed. When this happens then Standard bank requires you to go into the branch to update it, no one can update it via internet banking. So off I go to the branch, the first time being Brackenfell Branch, give all the information to the Enquiries consultant, only to find that I still do not receive any sms notifications unabling me to perform any payments on my internet banking. Ok so then I contact the branch to inform them of this, 'oh no sorry we cannot assist you with this over the phone, you have to go into the branch'...!!! This was March 2013.
August 2013 - Cell phone number changes, ok fine I know the procedure, make arrangements to go into the branch, Tyger Manor, on a Saturday morning arggghhh!! Hence the reason for internet banking! Same story, assisted by a person that is supposed to be qualified, come Monday, unable to do any internet banking because the sms notifications go through to the OLD CELL PHONE NUMBER!!
