I have a home loan with standard bank and I decided to move my account with them to hopefully make things easy for me. I applied for a Cheque account with the bank recently and it took them a month to issue me with a temporary card after having to do a follow up two weeks later. Whenever I call their call centre I can never seem to get to the right department. My first debit for my home loan was debited from an incorrect account after I had given clear instruction that they should continue debiting the account number I provided when I initially sent my application since I have not moved my salary. The stuff is either demotivated or they just going to work to collect their pay check every month. I am saying this since my experience recently has been either rude to say the least and unprofessional or someone telling me down right that it is not their job. Where I come from the culture is such that I must NEVER EVER! Tell customers that IT IS NOT MY JOB! Standard bank personnel are unable to comprehend a simple instruction or request from the customers and CUSTOMER is not IMPORTANT to them.
