On Saturday 17 August, I received a call from an 011 number that I was unable to answer at the time. Later, I received an sms stating that I need to contact the FNB Credit Card Department to confirm a test charge to my credit card at 'Le Merigot' (which I confirmed to be a USA based hotel).

I called the department and spoke to Gift Mukhari who filled me in on the situation and informed me that security measures were added to my account while awaiting my response on the validity of the charge.

I greatly appreciate the speed in which this activity was picked up as well as the initiative taken by the Department to ensure that no charges to my account occurred. Who knows how much could have been spent on my card had it not been picked up so quickly!
