Bad customer service resulting in unfair charges

I have a student silver check account and monthly get charged a management fee of R16, 50 with the rest of my banking free. I was told that yearly I must confirm that I'm still a student to keep the account. However, when going through my statements recently (which I don't usually do because I get an SMS when I spend money or draw from my account) I noticed admin charges, and bank fees in the statement. I emailed ABSA asking them to explain these, which took days for a response, and the response was that I must submit yearly proof that i'm a student to an ABSA branch otherwise standard fees will apply.
I had tried to do this at the beginning of the year (after waiting hours in the line at ABSA in Galleria) and was told that I was still registered as a student and it was unnecessary to show my registration documents etc. But now I have been charged and was not even notified that I must do so by a certain date or that I was even being charged for this. I then asked if I could email the documents (which I had to ask for I wasn't told I could email) and sent the documentation to the right email on 7 August, but I'm still being charged management fees. This is unacceptable. What do I do
