Why specify items?

My golf clubs where at a local driving range on the 25th July 2013. I contacted MiWay and they started the procedure for my claim. The golf clubs were specifically noted in the insurance policy. Initially, they requested confirmation of me actually being present at the driving range. The incident was reported to the security guard on duty at the driving range (name unknown), with no success in finding out what had happened/who had the clubs. We proceeded to report the incident at Honeydew Police Station, for further investigation. (case number available on request). Things have now progressed to the level where MiWay are requesting photographs of me, what clothing I wore and permission to track my phone on that day. This is becoming utterly ridiculous. What is the use of specifying items and paying extra for them if you get interrogated and treated like a criminal?
