On 2 Jan 2013 I did an EFT to be credited to my account with Maravedi. I made a follow up with their Call Centre (3 Jan) where I was shuttled through to no less than 5 diff business units within the JD Group with no assistance. I eventually called their head office & asked for help from the receptionist who was kind enough to direct me to the relevant customer services people.
On trying to call them their numbers went unanswered & I had to settle for sending emails (3 Jan). Again no response. I finally got through to the call centre agent on 9 Jan & was asked to re-send the email with the full details. Receipt of my payment was confirmed but not the actual allocation to my account. The matter was said to be under investigation & would be resolved soon. A follow up email on 20 Jan yielded no response.
It's scary not knowing whether my payment will ever be credited to my account given that I am being charged interest at 30% pa. I wonder how many others are in a similar situation with the JD Group. For a company that claims to proactively practice & achieve world class customer service this experience has left me with a very sour taste in my mouth!!! Be warned fellow shoppers.
