I went into the Standard bank - Festival mall on Saturday 19/01/2012 requesting account details for paying via my internet banking to a Blue Bean credit card. The consultant at the Enquiries counter (Gugulethu Jiyane) responded to me by raising her voice and informing me that I needed to use the number on the credit card itself to do te payment.
Firstly this was not even my credit card that I needed to make a payment into, so how on earth would I know what the number on the card was. (She did not bother to ascertain that with me.)
Secondly, the information she proivded was incorrect as there is a suspense account number which was provided to me by the STD bank call centre that I had to make a payment into and USE the number on the card as a REFERENCE when making the payment.
I suggest that Gugu be taken to training firstly for product knowledge and secondly for Customer service.
She is the first point of contact for customers at the Festival Mall branch but really does not know how to make things SIMPLER BETTER FASTER for them.
Im hoping that the powers that be will take my complaint seriously and action will be taken against this lady.
I also await an apology from her.
