Dear Sir,

I had taken out a policy, being death and disability cover for my father in October last year. This was done via a broker, Mr. Tony Govender who is in the employ of Old Mutual. The necessary procedure had been followed to insure my dad (Rathipal Sunker, identity no. 4110145082080) and the policy was then active. I have paid all my premiums in full as required by the insurer. My dad passed away on the 17th May 2013. I have since filed a claim for the agreed death benefit and now suffer the burden of being given the run-around by Old Mutual and it's employees. It seems there are internal issues at play as I am being passed over from one department to another. Currently bearing a huge a financial burden with the funeral costs and subsequent customary prayer that follows in our Hindu tradition, places undue stress on me causing impaired functionality at my workplace. I would appreciate any assistance that you could provide me in my severe predicament. I cannot understand why the insurer having accepted the policy and the conditions there-off, will not honor their end, as I have not reneged on my payments.
