Funeral Policies Dont Make Sense!

If Old Mutual sold me a policy where if i die the policy would be null and void, why would i then take out the same policy for another beneficiary??? I would probably only do this if it was not brought to my attention!!!
This cannot be proved though because according to Old Mutual there is no paper trail, we would have to go back to the conversation that was had between the policy holder and Old Mutual Employee (impossible). Why is there no paper trail??? Why does one department at Old Mutual say one thing and the other something else??? This to me just sounds to far fetched to be real but it is!!! am i right in saying that?? Can somebody at Old Mutual Please contact me and advise me why?? This is a real situation i find myself in not something i made up even though it sounds like that!!!
