I have been with Miway for 3 years and was very happy with the service..I decided to trade my Bakkie in and buy a new car.. I phoned MIway and after speaking to the operator I insured my new car thru them. I fetched my car on the Saturday and on the MondayI had an accident. I got hold of miway to lodge the claim ..everything went rather fast and they sent an accessor out to see the car and then told me it was a rite off..So i proceeded with the claim ..only to be told that they declined my claim and that I had misrepresented myself... they asked me if i had any incidents in the last three years . i said no as i had not had any whilst with miway..i had an accident in Dec 2012 but was driving my husbands company car and was hit from behind.. i did not think it was relevant as all i did was report it to the police and the rest the company insurance did. Miway said my policy was wrong as i was a risk. HOW I ASKED.. i was hit from behind. they did not answer that question.. Ombudsman also ruled in there favour. I still believe it is wrong . i now have a car standing and i am paying the bank..So much for loyalty. they could have met me half way.
