First National Bank
Unauthorized Billings after switching to FNB

Business & Finance

After visiting FNB's website I decided to switch to FNB. I switched all my debit orders and salary at my nearest branch (Cape Town Long Street) with the help of a young pregnant lady whose name I dont remember on the 13/06/2013. She then confirmed that this request was processed and that my debits will go-off from my new FNB account as of the end of June 2013. Moreover, she confirmed that all the necesary forms were correctly completed and all the required documents received by FNB.

To my surprise I received an sms on the 28/06/2013 from Standardbank (previous bank) stating that my debit orders were unpaid and as you can imagine there are bank charges involved. I've tried countless times to get FNB to refund me for the unpaid fees charged by SBSA but they refuse to. An excuse they gave me is that they cannot get hold of their employee who help me to verify that I'm not lying to them. Why must customers be punished for employees incompetance. This consultant was pregnant and she is possibly on meternity leave, does this mean I should wait for her to return? I've lost - R800 because FNB is misleading people and claiming to care about their clients, they dont.
