Dear Sir / Madam,
RE: POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE AND CHEQUE CLEARANCE COMPLAINT
This is with reference to my Account (Card Number 5196 1201 1168 3230) and the services I received from your 'MAMELODI CROSSING' Branch.
I have been a loyal patron of your bank for atleast 10 years, my relationship with Standard Bank dating back to when I opened my first account with Standard Bank, Ellis Park before I left for offshore work.

I had nothing but praise all this while over the courteous and efficient services of your staff. But all that changed last week when I dropped by your bank to deposit a NEDBANK bank guaranteed cheque from my customer.
According to Nedbank, the cheque was supposed to clear within 24 hours. However, this was not to be so with Standard Bank. I was told that they would offer a special clearance and the money would be available in three days. To date, the money has not cleared.
I also noticed that there was a deduction made on my account. How, because the money has not cleared? I wish to know!
As it were, I have demurrage that is costing me R500 a day and thanks to Standard Bank, it's my loss and I will have to take care of it on my own. These kinds of delays in transa
