Standard bank business banking is a mess

Hi.

Cheques where deposited in my bank account in Feb 2013, 7 days later the later the money was cleared and the money was used..

3 months later the cheques are reversed, there was no transactions.
I have been given the runaround on this matter.

7 day clearance period means nothing, cheques can be reversed at any time.
The customer can collect his goods and reverse the cheque, you as a business will have to carry the loss.

How does cheques in Standard bank work?
Nobody seems to have a clear understanding.
