Yesterday I booked a car through First Drive. I paid the amount as requested by the merchant. I never received confirmation that the amount has being reserved. I phoned the company and was told that they are closed and that I must phone again Monday morning. How can a car rental company only works office hours. I phoned the bank this morning and asked them to stop the payment. I spoke to a Thabiso who told me that it is the banks policy that they only can reverse or stop the payment if given permission by the merchant. What a lot of bull!!! Its my money and the merchant couldn't deliver a service. I am definetily going to lodge a complaint with the bank ombudsman for incompetence.
