FNB mess up and I must pay!

Yesterday I tried to use my LifeStart Debit Card at a store, only to have it be declined 3 times. I then received an SMS from FNB saying "Tranx declined due to CVV failure. 3 digit security number incorrect or missing in Tranx detail. Contact 0860 11 22 44 for assistance". First of all this makes no sense to a consumer at all, does anybody know what Tranx is??
Secondly, I called the number (thinking 0860 was a toll-free number) only to spend ages waiting for the operator to get back to me about something, and then being cut off after listening to music for ages, because I had run out of airtime!! and I had just topped up today. This makes me extremely frustrated and angry that I am required to waste all of my airtime because FNB has decided to cut off access to me using my card, for an out-of-the-blue random reason that makes no sense to me at all. The problem is now not sorted out, and I cannot and will not call back and waste more money. So what can I do?? Help please FNB?!
