Delay in registration of fixed property

Business & Finance

Offer to purchase was signed during April 2013. Till date, registration has not yet taken place with one excuse to the other. Property was sold by an elderly couple that really battle to keep up with their daily expenses. The previous occupational rent was paid into their account with no hassle to obtain funds. On 1 July 2013 the next month's rental income was paid via Trust account cheque (Namford Attorneys) and a hold was placed on the cheque. After numerous telephone calls, with the promise to return calls, this matter has not been resolved. There is still a hold on the cheque. The hold is 10 days - really unacceptable for the elderly couple that has to pay daily expenses. The elderly couple was sent to the bank twice to uplift the hold as it "can not be done by Namford"?? The selling agent, Nelly Stippeck of Remax, is also not very supportive. Telephone calls to her are made off as "I also need the money and have personal problems" which are really of no concern to the complainant. The elderly couple are in dire straights... debit orders and payments are going off their account with insufficient funds. Please assist in resolving this long outstanding and painful experience.
