Really not giving "So much more" to the elderly

Business & Finance

My grandad, a Mr. L G Jones has been a client of FNB for decades and has always considered them his banking institution of choice, however this relationship has now become tainted by a situation that seems ridiculous to me. For the past ten years or so my grandfather has received a cheque or two a year from an annuity with Abbey Life he has in the United Kingdom where he is from and the bank has always been only too happy to assist him in cashing this to support himself, however he has now received a cheque for 53 Pounds which granted may not seem like a lot for myself or a large bank like FNB, but to my grandfather even this would contribute considerably towards his income with his small pension that they have said too small an amount for them to bother with. I think it is an absolute disgrace that the elderly and also long standing clients receive responses like this from a reputable institution such as yourselves. I would appreciate it if someone would contact me on this matter as it seems ridiculous that my grandfathers only option seems to tear the cheque up as it's just not enough for the bank to bother with.
