Telesure unilaterally deducts

This morning I learnt that Telesure has been unilaterally deducting R229 from my ABSA account for some "added services". Not only is the R229 excessive considering the net value of "insured items" but I never, ever agreed to this "added service". They even included an ID lost cover? What? It only takes seven days to replace an ID and is only R50 or something!

Clearly, this practice is against FAIS/CPA and common decency. I have spoken to the Callcentre manager who has promised to investigate, but I feel that others must be warned! Please make sure you are not paying for "added services" which you never ordered. Please start scrutinising your bank statements.

In the meantime, I am waiting for my refund from telesure. I hope I will be compensated for the interest I would have earned if that money was left in my bank account.

If not, I ought to look as my other options... Maybe, Santam?
