I wrote to O.M that i want my Retirement annuity cancelled. On 24/05/2013 got an email from them that my policy has been made paid up, now i was to send them, 1. Certified copy of ID, 2. Cancellation letter (which had allmy contact details), 3. Payslip with tax number, 4. Proof of address, 5. Stamped bank statement. I faxed and email all those documents on 27/05/2013 received a ref no: GSENQ712631. I called them on that very same day 27/05/2013 to check whether they received everything they wanted, which they said yes and told me to wait 20 working days. Today 21/06/2013 i called them to find out when I should be expecting the money in my account, and was told they never received my ID copy and proof of address (which isent again) and was also told now i should also write a letter that states if the RA's value is less than R7000 I want it paid out. I was told I would have to wait another 20 days which is ludicrous as this is not my fault. I absolutely do not know why old mutual never contacted me in time to avoid inconveniencing me and i am very angry at the type of service, i have been dished.
