I transferred funds into my Dad's account on Friday, 14/06, from an Absa account. The funds still did not reflect in his account by Wednesday, 19/06. His account was previously closed as it was dormant, but was "forced open" by a consultant. He went into the branch to try and withdraw the money, but was told that the card was no longer linked to his account, but that the account was open. He went in again to query the status of the transfer, but nobody could help. He is a very elderly man and he surely does not deserve the runaround!! He thought that he'd give it another day, as it takes 2 days for an inter-bank transfer to reflect. The funds were returned to my account today - Account does not exist. I'm almost sure his account was closed but nobody could explain that to him. I would appreciate it if someone can call him, and EXPLAIN to him why the funds did not go through to his account and to EXPLAIN to him what the status of his account is. And the bottom line is that he still has not received the funds. I am extremely annoyed and disappointed with the service received.
