Discovery Card
Account Handed to Attorneys for no clear reason

I have a Visa card (NOT A CREDIT CARD SINCE THERE IS NO LIMIT) with Discovery Card which I deposit money into to use for purchases in-order to get the cash back rewards offered by Discovery. Mon 10 June 2013 I got an SMS advising that the card has been handed to legal. Fri 14 June 2013 I tried to deposit money as usual but found out that my card is no longer working. Called Discovery card and I was told that account is handed over to legal. Was transferred to legal but only find that it is not legal its collections, I was again put through to legal where I waited for about 30 min on the line until I dropped the call and I called the number i received via SMS. That number belongs to the attorneys who advised me that the account has been handed to them and I have to pay approximately R981 including legal costs. The only fact that I know is there is a debit order that runs through the card for the gym for R269 plus monthly fee of R68 that went through on 1 June 2013 which made the account to have a debit balance. The account has been in debit for 13 days and for this I was handed over and must pay all these costs. Unacceptable treatment, there was not even a letter of demand issued.
