I worked for a Regulator during 1999-2004. Discovery was the preffered Medical Aid. We all applied for Discovery credit Card when it was launch. I received one, but was a debit card, as it was not embossed, neither was there a CCV number. Since the card only operated on a cash available balance, no credit purchases could be accrued on the account. I even tried to rent a car, in January 2005 at OR International, was told it is not a credit card. There was enough funds to cover the car hire, but as we all know, Credit Card was the only method of payment. To my dismay, I open my cheque account with FNB about 1 year ago. Just to find out that the said Discovery card show a negative balance. I enquired, and was told it was for Credit Purchases. having to replay the entire scenario, but the agent was like " F " you..pay your bill. How can a debit card accrue credit purchases with no Credit Limt. The card could only be swipe, with a pin. Where did I accrue R6436.94 on a debit card?? To make matters worst, they deducted R330.00 from my account with no authorisation. I refuse to pay any interest or charges on the account, . Can FNB please put their Slogan out..
