First National Bank
Finding out you pay way too much

Business & Finance

Today I wanted to open a shared bank account so we can easily manage our shared expenses.

As we both are with FNB it seemed most logic to go there.

We went there and we were helped by a very friendly lady - her service is excellent.

The problem was that while going through the options on sharing an account, we found that there were a lot of charges we currently pay for our existing accounts that are entirely over the top.

Ard: platinum account.

Price: R120 / month.
For example E-bucks were never activated because I was never told that the R120/month is linked to having that option in the first place. So 2.5 years passed where the E-bucks that could have accumulated never did. What is the solution to that? I believe this is misleading and witholding information by having customers sign a form that all has been explained to them but essentially is has not.

The advantage of a platinum account apparantly is that a special account manager is assigned to you. In this case that person has never taken the courtesy of responding to emails with questions and more. That is a serious service failure on top of misinforming your customer.

Much appreciate the feedback.
