FNB deceives customers

Crippled Webroot SecureAnywhere Anti Virus for on-line customers

While the anti-malware FNB provides is good, it should be part of the service given to customers, i.e. the full version, free of charge.

In the industry, I have seen this many times, where a "crippled" version of software is provided for free, and is used to scare the customer into buying the full product. Particularly in security software. FNB is doing this.

It is considered to be a nefarious act in the I.T. industry, where this has been going on for years. Typically, the customer gets a free to try trial version of software offered with the software he had originally sought.

Many customers don't read the fine print (as it is normally opt-out) and install the Trojan free trial, and are then convinced to buy it through scare tactics. The distributor (in this case FNB) of the software receives a cut from the origional software maker fo doing this.

This is clearly what FNB is doing, and is underhand, and exploits its customers, so that it can get a cut of the revenue generated from its customers buying the full version. It is actually a form of, and deception - from a bank that should be trustworthy.
