Decrease of my instalments

I have an loan with Direct Axis and currently I'm going through financial constrains and have asked if I can decrease my current instalments and pay at least what I can afford, the consultant was so rude that she told me that can never happen and if I'm going through financial constrains i still need to pay and what will happen they will handover my accounts to their legal departments and they will handover to ITC and my credit will be damaged.
