Wrongfully charged for a cancelled policy

I took out a funeral policy out with Old Mutual for my mom, but then I found a better offer and called in on the 16 of April 2013 at 9:46am to cancel the policy. The consultant I spoke to (unfortunately I don't have the person's name) told me that it was not finalised yet and has not gone through to head office, so there's no need to cancel but that she would make sure its cancelled (I even asked her if she's sure). Now the policy amount has been deducted and when I called, they say they can apparently not trace the call.
