Standard Bank
Problems in changing debit orde

Business & Finance

I am trying to change the debit order on our bond to FNB. On 13 May 2013 I phoned customer service to find out the procedure. Spoke to 3 consultants, said I must go in to my branch which I did on 18 May. Today I received a mail from Home loans department stating that they need a STAMPED bank statement from FNB. I spoke to 3 people last week and to the consultant at Montana, branch and not one told me this is a requirement. If the lady at Montana told me that on Saturday, I would have obtained the statement. I work full day and do not have time to take off from work. Due to incorrect advice / incompetance on the part of Std Bank, the debit order will not be processed on 25 May and my bond would be in arrears, which results in bad credit record. How will Std resolve this? I also contact premier banking via email twice and received this mail "We have received more emails than usual over the last few days and are currently working hard on reducing this backlog. We apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused you. Your email has been placed in a queue and will be attended to as soon as possible" Wow that is how you treat premier clients banking with you for 28 years
