Standard Bank
SHOCKED!!!

Business & Finance

On the first of EVERY month I transfer money from my bond (reg in a CC) to my cheque acc via internet banking. When I wanted to do that today, the website informed me it's not allowed from my bond acc. When I called in (from a branch) I was told it's because of a hold that was put on my bond on 26 June. They require my CK1, proof of address and ID to unlock the hold! My question: WHEN and HOW was I going to be notified of this? If I didn't run into the problem and thus calling in, I STILL WOULDN'T HAVE KNOWN! Don't you know about communication with clients, Standard Bank? E-mail? Sms? Phone? Letter? This caused tremendous inconvenience and resulted in no money being available in my cheque acc today for the bond's debit order. (Yes, unfortunately that is how I currently have to manage my finances, but that's my business & none of ur concern). I then had to do an EFT transfer from Nedbank to cover my bond payment, which will only show in my bond in a day or two. My main concern: the debit order that's going to bounce, the penalty I will have to pay and the possible further cancellation of my access bond due to insufficient funds today. Please advise.
