Lack of response for claim

My cottage was damaged by a fire on 14 April 2013. I lodged a claim on Monday and an assessor contacted me to assess the damage. This was done and the main contractor came trough a few days later to provide a quote. I had to wait a few more days for the carpet people to come through. I am still waiting for someone to come through to provide a quote for the cupboards. I have had no feedback regarding my claim. I have phoned numerous times and got told that the person dealing with my claim is not available and will get back to me. I eventually got a reply from this person only to be told that their systems are offline and the manager is not in the office. It is now a month later and I still have a cottage that is uninhabitable.
I would like a response as to why it has taken so long to get this far and have no progress.
If I have no response by 12H00 on 14 May 2013 I will then report this to the banking ombudsman seeing as Absa is not interested in providing a service that is being paid for.
